Health Guidelines And Policy

Health & Medications

At Neki Ram Global School (N.R. Global School), we prioritize the health, safety, and overall well-being of every student. We believe that a healthy child learns better, and maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment is a shared responsibility between the school and parents. The following guidelines are designed to help us work together to keep our students safe, strong, and thriving.

General Health Practices

  • Regular Health Check-ups: Parents are encouraged to ensure that their child receives routine medical check-ups and completes all recommended vaccinations. A copy of the child’s updated immunization record should be submitted to the school at the time of admission and updated when necessary.
  • Balanced Nutrition: A healthy, balanced diet supports both physical and cognitive development. Please provide nutritious tiffins and snacks and encourage your child to drink water regularly during the school day.

Illness and School Attendance

  • Stay Home When Unwell: If your child is experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, cold, vomiting, diarrhea, or general fatigue, please keep them home to rest and recover. This also helps to prevent the spread of illness within the school community.
  • Notifying the School: In the case of a contagious illness (e.g., chickenpox, flu, COVID-19, etc.), please inform the school office immediately. The child should return only after completing the recommended recovery period.
  • Medical Clearance: For extended absences due to illness, a doctor’s note confirming the child is fit to resume school may be required.

Personal Hygiene and Cleanliness

  • Hand Hygiene: Teach your child the importance of regular hand washing, especially after using the restroom and before meals. Hand sanitizer is available on campus, but regular handwashing is encouraged.
  • Personal Cleanliness: Encourage your child to follow daily hygiene routines such as bathing, brushing teeth, grooming, and wearing clean clothes. Remind them to cover their mouth while coughing or sneezing to prevent germs from spreading.

Medication Policy

  • During School Hours: If your child needs to take medication during school time, please submit the medication to the school office or nurse, along with a written note from a doctor and clear instructions. Students are not allowed to carry medication in their school bags.
  • Emergency Medications: For children with asthma, allergies, diabetes, or other health conditions, inhalers, EpiPens, or prescribed emergency medication must be provided to the school. Parents must inform staff about the condition and any necessary actions in case of emergency.

Mental and Emotional Well-being

  • Emotional Support: A child’s mental and emotional health is just as important as physical health. Keep communication open with your child and observe signs of stress or anxiety. If needed, contact our school counselor for support and guidance.
  • Sleep & Rest: Ensure your child gets adequate sleep every night. Well-rested children show better focus, memory, and mood during school hours.

Physical Fitness and Safety

  • Exercise & Activity: Regular physical movement is essential. Encourage your child to participate in school sports and physical education programs. Exercise not only builds strength but also improves mental focus.
  • Safety During Sports: Please ensure your child has the appropriate gear and attire for sports activities. Inform the school if your child has any physical limitations or conditions that should be considered.

Together for a Healthy Future

At N.R. Global School, we are committed to creating a safe, healthy, and caring environment where students can grow, learn, and succeed. By following these guidelines, families play a vital role in supporting their child's health journey and in building a strong, vibrant school community.
